Starting on the 18th of June 2011 and running for 3 weeks. You can create any game you like using the theme given on day 1 of the contest
Points will be awards for original gameplay ideas, clever use of GameSalad rules, artwork, audio, overall polish and more
Each developer entering will be encouraged to run their own development thread on the offical GameSalad forum
The judging will be carried out by a group of highly experienced GameSalad developers popular in the GameSalad community
With some great prizes avaialble for the winners of the given categories, including best overall game.

So whats it all about?
The 'Think Outside the Box' competition is a contest aimed specifically at developers using the GameSalad game creation tool.
The Theme for the competition is 'The Ocean' and was announced on the first day of the contest, so games entered need to be some how based on the ocean e.g. Pirates, fish, octopus, turtles, missle shooting submarine, waves, sharks etc etc.
We have some stellar prizes up for grabs a real mixture broken down into 1st, 2nd and 3rd place plus some special prizes for Best 'Game Orginality', 'Game Play' and 'Use of Audio and Graphics'. Check out the prize list and break down here .
The aim of the contest is give people a reason to work on original and compelling game ideas for iphone/ipad and mac store games. There are a few rules you need to follow to make sure your game submission is accepted.
The judging will be carried out by a select group of GameSalad expert developers who are respected amongst the developer community.
The scoring system used by the judges has been made available to view in your own spreadsheet software to see how the points are shared out. It takes into account points for game originality, good use of the GameSalad tool kit as well as extra points awarded for artwork, audio, over all game polish, personality and more.
